Methods of creating monospermous and dispermous linear materials of red beet, principles of the development of highly productive varieties and hybrids. Research objectives: To improve the existing methods of intraspecific hybridization, recurrent reciprocal and convergent selection and to create highly productive monospermous and dispermous lines of red beet adapted to the conditions of the Podilsk-Dnieper territory of the Forest-Steppe zone of Ukraine. Methods of investigation. Hybridization with the following individual and group selection. The yield criteria and morphological characteristics of beetroots of 21 collection specimens of red beets were established. The sources with valuable productive and morphological features were selected. Beetroots of 12 inzucht/inbreeding lines(І1) and seeds of five lines (І1) were received. Variety testing resulted in recognizing hybrid F1 (К18-05 ? П24-06) as a perspective one.
