The desulphurized coal may be used in power engineering or at metallurgical plant. The principal flow sheet has been proposed and the initial data for the scheme development have been issued. The effect of main factors, namely temperature, oxidant composition, oxidant:raw material ratio, process time, size of coal grains and oxidant linear rate on the quality and quantity of obtained products has been determined. The mathematical model has been suggested for the desulphurization process of coal different by nature. The optimum conditions were established for the coal production with sulphur content of no more than 1.0-1.5 mas %. Black coal desulphurization takes place due to the interaction between pyrite and oxygen forming SO2 and Fe2O3. The conversion of black coal sulphur leads to H2S formation as a result of interaction between sulphuric compounds and coal organic part. The intensity of sulphur removal from medium-metamorphized black coal is less compared with other types of coal. The reason is the capability of the mentioned type of coal to convert into plastic state at 350-500C. The gases obtained during desulphurization may be used for the production of liquefied sulphur dioxide and elementary sulphur. The implementation of the developed process at thermoelectric power stations would allow to reduce the pollution of environment by SO2 and to increase the stations profitability. The suggested technology allows to use the domestic high-sulphuric coal in coke and metallurgic branches.
