The sythesized monomers have been shown to retain the polimerizability of the corresponding traditional monomer classes. Surface active oligomers based on the monomers have been synthesized. The oligomers are capable of conjugating nucleic acids and providing their efficient delivery to cells. Applying the complexes with antisence oligonucleotides have allowed for a 98% reduction in in vivo prion expression. The complexes have been demonstrated to overcome the hematoencephalic barrier. The synthesized materials could serve as a basis for the development of drugs for prion infection treatment.
