The chosen components and their content were researched with the purpose of improving physical and mechanical as well as decorative properties of protective wood coatings. The main parameters of wood coatings formation were researched. A technological regime of application and drying of linseed oil-based modified composite was developed. The results of this work confirm the possibility that the linseed oil can be modified and that it conforms to the conditions of coatings formation by hand or by machine. The linseed oil-based composite dries faster with minimal composite loss compared to known oil materials, creates coatings according to coatings usage and decorative standards. This composite and coatings based on it submit to environmental sustainability requirements, i.e. the technological process and the developed material can be considered ecologically safe, energy-efficient and using Ukrainian resources.
