Molecular analyses of root cultures and regenerated plants were carried out. Antimicrobial activity has been studied in root cultures and aerial parts of plants, and the lines possessing antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis were detected. Antioxidative activities of water extracts of root and shoot cultures of studied plant species were determined. The content of polyfructans in Cichorium intybus hairy roots was studied.
