The primary diagnosis was based on cytomorphology and cytochemistry of pathologic cells in the specimens of blood and bone marrow. The use of the up-to-date techniques for detecting important diagnostic and prognostic mutations has been put forward in the patients with strongly suspected polycythemia vera, primary myelofibrosis, essential thrombocytopenia.
