Purpose of research - to develop methodological approaches for a quantitative assessment and diagnoses of soil cover of gardens and vineyards, based on satellite imagery and GIS technology, the scientific basis of the possibility of growing fruits, berries and grapes under certain soil agro-ecological conditions through the use of new technologies. Research methods - office and laboratory research methods using satellite multispectral space scanning, radar and penetrating radar with further interpretation of data in geographic information systems; statistical methods, methods of using geographic information systems (GIS), analytical research methods, traditional field survey and soil observation, methods of electronic mapping. Capabilities of different remote sensing systems on the assessment of land resources conditions have been identified.
