The protocol for quantitative analysis of lichenase activity was developped. Fatty acid analysis of plants carrying desC::licBM3 transgene suggested correlation between lichenase activity and fatty acid changes in transgenic D. linguella. We showed high level of hybrid proteins accumulation, especially hGH::licBM3 surpassing that of native hGH that suggests high stability of hybrid product. Cold inducible promoters of CBF1 and cor15a genes have been cloned. Transient expression of GFP::licBM3 gene under the control of these promoters demonstrated their capability for reporter gene transcription initiation.
