Purpose of research: to improve the efficacy of combination treatment of the patients with ovarian cancer by means of optimizing the protocols of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Methods of research and equipment: clinical, morphological, and statistical. Theoretical and practical results: it was proven that final level of tumor marker СА-125 was am important parameter of aggression and dissemination of the tumor process. The final level exceeding 200 U/ml as well as increase of the marker after the cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy or presence of low-differentiated or poorly differentiated tumor of the ovaries required more powerful protocols of chemotherapy. It was determined that ultasonography objectively demonstrated the dynamics of chemotherapy and summarized the treatment results, which allowed to make an objective prognosis of the possibility of surgery and its volume by the changes in the size of the tumor mass and presence of ascites. Comparison of pathomorphism of ovarian cancer after neoadjuvant chemotherapy suggests greater inhibition of the proliferative properties of the tumor and apoptosis activation, enlargement of the damaged tumor after 4 cycles when compared to 3 cycles of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Novelty: For the first time, the number of neoadjuvant chemotherapy cycles was substantiated using the data about therapeutic pathomorphism of ovarian cancer. Area of application: medicine, oncology.
