The purpose of work is to research the dependences of scales of nearwall vortical structures on the parameters of cavities. Experimental and numerical modeling of the process of longitudinal vortical structures formation as means of the boundary layer control. The method of research is physical and numeral experiment on the analysis of vortical flow structure. In the presented interim report, the experimental model with the system of cavities and complex (visualization and instrumental measuring) methods of the flow structure registration are modernized with the purpose of studying the scale and frequency dependences of vortical structures on the parameters of cavities. The numerical modeling results revealed the friction reduction near the cavity and in its wake but total drag somewhat increased, at zero angle of attack, and practically did not change at a moderate angle of attack. The lift force on the aerodynamic profile almost did not change at the studied dimensions and shapes of cavities.
