The purpose of research - scientific rationale, development and experimental verification of the socio-pedagogical work with juvenile offenders in penal institutions, aimed at their social rehabilitation. Methods: Theoretical: analysis of scientific literature, summarizing the experience, content analysis of legal documents, modeling, forecasting, planning, scheduling, and others.; Empirical: diagnostic (tests, questionnaires, review documentation and products activities, interview, observation) socio-pedagogical experiment, monitoring, mathematical statistics. The novelty of the results is that first founded, developed and introduced the theoretical and methodological foundations of the system of social and educational work with young prisoners in penal institutions, aimed at their re-socialization, developed and implemented the content and technology training penitentiary to social and educational work with convicted in university education and professional activities. The degree of implementation defined scientific and methodological support social and educational work with young prisoners in all penal institutions (correctional facilities) of Ukraine and the learning process DZ "LTSNU" Chernihiv Law College DPtS Ukraine. Recommendations for the use of the work: the process of social and educational work with young prisoners in penal institutions may become effective if it is organized as a system and provided scientific and methodological tools presented in the paper. Application: process penitentiary bodies and institutions belonging to the DPtS Ukraine; learning process universities that train specialists to work with convicts. Economic efficiency: achieve social rehabilitation and reintegration into society of prisoners without additional investment, ensuring colonies scientific, technical products. The significance of the work lies in achieving the goal of a penal process - resocialization - socio-pedagogical means, implementation and professional service training prison staff to the social and educational work among the convicts.
