The purpose of the research work is to apply current methods of mineral substance research for refined diamonds research while using sophisticated gemological equipment (Fourier-infrared spectrometer, etc.). The detailed research of refined diamonds will allow to accelerate the identification of their origin and traces of their refining. Research methods are Fourier-infrared (F-IR) spectroscopy, optical spectroscopy, X-Ray analysis, irradiation by ultraviolet. Research methodology is an accumulation of experimental data and systematization of infrared spectra of diamonds, of optical spectra of diamonds, X-Ray spectra of diamonds, of data obtained during experimental study of irradiated diamonds by ultraviolet, etc. Within the reporting period the comprehensive study of refined diamonds was conducted using sophisticated gemological equipment (Fourier-infrared spectrometer, optical micro spectrometer, X-Ray spectrometer, DiamondView™ instrument).
