The foundation of the theoretical and methodological basis for the research was formed by the methodological approaches and research methods of social philosophy, methodology and sociology of politics that are in the form of multiparadigmality research of political processes: explaining, unfolding and restructuring of political structures and functions in the structural-functional approach, the relations of political subjects, actors, social groups and communities in the intersubjectivity approach, the study of objectified political institutions and regimes in the institutional approach, in the study of complex systems in an unstable policy in the synergistic and systematic approaches, the study of positive knowledge of empirical, practice-oriented research, in the implementation of innovative systems of political systems and social engineering in the activity approach, the application of which is directed to study the subject - subject - object cognitive and transformative interaction in the political process. According to this the updating concept of the content and methods of teaching "Sociology of policy", "Social Forecasting" for the specialties "Sociology", "Politics", "Journalism", "International Relations", "Management" and "Marketing" of the Universities in Ukraine was developed and tested.
