The purpose of research - development of methods and complexing sorbents for the concentration of trace toxicants to reach the detection limit of 0.1-1.0 mkg/dm3 during routine analysis. Research methods - atomic absorption spectrometry, mass spectrometry with inductively coupled plasma, high performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection, chemiluminescence, solid phase extraction. Main results - the optimal conditions for concentrating of trace uranium (VI) (2-50 ug/dm3) on the layered double hydroxides of zinc and aluminum, іnterkolirated by EDTA . The optimal conditions were investigated for absorption and desorption of trace Cu, Zn, Ni, Pb, Cd, Cr on membrane filters for their concentration and determination at the level of 0.1-1.0 ug/dm3 in natural waters by atomic absorption spectrometry. A highly sensitive method for determining of PAHs (16 of priority pollutants) in natural waters and sediments have been developed, it includes solid phase extraction on porous polymer sorbents and analysis by high performance liquid chromatography with fluorescence detection; the limit of determination is equal to 0,1-0,01 ng/dm3. The study was performed to introduce the method of mass spectrometry with inductively- coupled plasma (ICP-MS) for routine practice of of water analysis to determine V, Cr, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pb, U, Ba, Se, As, etc. at the level of hygiene and ecological standards. The optimal conditions of the manganese determination as oxides of Mn (IV) were investigated and the method of its quantification in water with sensitivity of 0.01 mg/dm3 have been developed. The optimal conditions for solid phase concentration of bromate-ions were found for subsequent analysis of concentrates by chemiluminescence method, detection limit 0.5 ug/dm3. Sorption of humic acid on natural mineral sorbents from neutral solution were studied. Two new standards for water quality control (ДСТУ ISO) are developed which will be put nto operation from 01.03.2013. Field of application - protection of public health, protection of environment.
