Patients with trochanteric fractures of the hip. GOAL. To improve the results of surgical treatment of patients with trochanteric femoral fractures through the study of different operative methods, evaluation of criteria for fixing the fracture, developing rational system of post-operative rehabilitation, and predicting treatment outcomes based on clinical and medical history, laboratory and instrumental studies. METHODS. Statistical analysis of the clinical, radiographic, densitometric, and laboratory studies. The incidence, clinical types and mechanics of trochanteric fractures were established. Gender and age changes in bone mineral density of this area were investigated. A significant number of somatic (33.9%) and local complications (18.6%) were found and the main reasons for their development were identified. Using multivariate regression analysis of clinical and laboratory data, predictors of postoperative complications were revealed. The methods for prognosis the risk of complications and to classify patients into the risk groups were developed. The system of diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation activities, which takes into account the individual characteristics of the patient, was developed. The practical application of the study results reduced the incidence of somatic complications on 21.1%, local - on 12.2%. Good treatment outcomes increased by 17.6%, poor - decreased by 11%. The results can be used in the practice of the departments of traumatology and orthopedics.
