Gorky popup.description2 The activity of Donetsk region laboratory service was analyzed. Are distinguished main kinds of laboratory activity which could be computerized. Main integration directions of most significant standards of medical informatics: HL7, DICOM, SNOMED, RCC are studied. The ways of construction of LIS according to main principles of system approach to the complex information systems are defined. The directions of LIS implementation to the laboratory work are distinguished. On the base of structural laboratory departments' analysis and their functions information subsystems were created, each one of them is realizing defined number of functions. Units described: operational quality control, automatic interpretation and approval of results, reagent expenditure record. Were estimated socio-economic, managerial and commercial aspects of LIS's implementation, that promote major increase of quality level of laboratory information , which is needed for diagnostics, treatment control and preventive health care and thereafter the quality of the patient medical care. As the result of research work computer program "Laboratory information system URAN" was developed and implemented to the laboratory work.
