The high-temperature treatment of the derived zirconium sponge blocks in vacuum has been performed with various duration of high-temperature exposition in vacuum and under pressure. The common factors of zirconium sponge blocks degassing have been determined under these conditions, temperatures and pressure. The methods of chemical and spectral analysis have been used to investigate the composition of gas admixtures (oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and chlorine) in the sponge samples, which have been taken from the scull and bloomery portions of the zirconium sponge block. The gas admixtures distribution in a block of zirconium sponge and dependence of gas admixtures distribution on the conditions of magnesium-thermal reduction of zirconium tetrachloride and high-temperature treatment in vacuum has been investigated on the basis of analysis results.
