Using these powder mixtures plasma coatings have been deposited; flux cored wire in Al shell and pressed blanks have been made for the next plasma electrolytic synthesis of oxide ceramic layers on their surfaces. It was shown that plasma coatings of powder mixtures and electric arc coatings with cored wires have a typical lamellar structure. Mixture and shell of cored wire interact with each other during deposition and form an alloy doped with alumina. In plasma spraying of coating and pressuring of blanks from powder mixtures the interaction between components does not occur. By means of intensity method were found that doped oxide ceramic layers with Cu up to 4 wt%, increases the Young's modulus, plasticity and resistance to fracture. The addition of Cu in the structure of thermal sprayed coating promotes to realize the effect of selective transfer, which is the formation of copper-glycerin films on the surface of steel conterbody, as result the friction coefficient decreases from 0.16 to 0.04.
