Information × Registration Number 0213U001104, 0110U001004 , R & D reports Title The development of radar satellite investigations of the inhomogeneities on the sea surface associated with catastrophic events popup.stage_title Head Boyev Anatoly Grigorovich, Registration Date 17-01-2013 Organization Institute of Radiophisics and Electronics NASU popup.description2 The final report presents the results of the "Lotus-5" research, namely, by using the analysis capabilities of modern satellite radar systems for monitoring sea surface irregularities, arising from accidental oil spills and seismic activity in the offshore, the requirements to the observation conditions and parameters such systems are formulated; theoretical modeling of scattering by these irregularities are implemented; the new method for estimating the amount of spilled oil on the sea surface according to the multiangle radar sensing are proposed for the pollution assessment in one of the most dangerously oil-producing areas (the field "Oil Stones" in the Caspian Sea) by using satellite data; and compare them with the results of the aircraft multi-frequency and satellite single-frequency monitoring; theoretical analysis of the effect on the spectrum of seismic sea waves are implemented and compare the theoretical values of radar contrasts seismic waves on the sea surface with the satellite radar observation data; peculiarities of seismic wave manifestation, atmospheric gravity waves and internal waves with radar monitoring of the sea surface are detected.
