Objectives - determination of the fundamentals of carbonization of domestic and biological wastes in coal, and catalytic conversion of volatile in gas with high content of hydrogen. Methods of research - standard methods of solid fuel research and new methods for assessment of carbonization, catalytic conversion of volatile, and CO2 fixation processes. There were investigated: carbonization of municipal waste (polyethylene terephthalate (PET), fabrics made of polyester (PE) (65 wt.%) and cotton (35 wt.%), and cotton cloth (CC)); conversion of PE and cotton and sunflower husk (SH)using new nickel catalysts for volatile conversion developed at the Indian Institute of Petroleum; decomposition of PE, PET, and their volatile using catalysts for volatile conversion based on Ca and Mg; reforming of organic waste (lignin, SH, and CC) into hydrogen using catalysts for volatile conversion. The effect of changes in the state of aggregation and volatile output on the heating rate of the sample is determined. Synthesis gas with high content of hydrogen was obtained. A new circuit for production of synthesis gas from waste using technology of torrefication, comprising the steps of partial carbonization of organic waste at temperatures up to 280 oC and subsequent production of synthesis gas from gaseous products in the coal bed at temperatures up to 1000 oC.
