Purpose of the work - development of experimental finely dispersed dry compositions based on vitreous enamels, crystalline refractory filler and colloid-forming (clay) components for obtaining of protective coatings on steel articles. Methods of the research - chemical, physical and physicochemical (XRD and differential thermal analysis, determination of chemical resistance of frits and coatings, melting intervals of frits, thermal resistance and adhesion strength of coatings, Brookfield rotation viscosimetry, laser diffraction analysis, measurement of zeta-potential). Analytical overview of scientific-technological and patent literature on the problem of creation and properties of dry polydisperse "Ready to Use" mixes intended to obtain enamel slips, that has shown relevance and complexity of such development, is given in the work. Relevance as well as scientific and practical importance of the problems composing the subject of the research have been justified. Research direction and methods have been chosen. Criterions of selecting of glass component and polyfraction composite dry mixes and electrolytes - suspension and stabilizing compounds - were developed and RTU compositions were developed on this base. Optimal values of rheological properties and parameters of the preparation process of vitreous enamel slips from developed dry RTU compositions were established. Scientific bases of structure formation for vitreous enamel slip obtained by dry milling were developed. Industrial tests of developed experimental compositions were conducted, recommendations concerning technological modes of their obtaining in the enamelling of steel articles have been composed.
