Research aim – to establish main regularities of influence of organic components in electrolytes upon electrochemical synthesis processes of alloys and composites on the base of chromium; to ascertain the factors that determine efficiency of effect of organic additives and to clear up the effect of electrodeposition conditions on the functional properties of chromium alloys coatings obtained. Research method – voltammetry, potentiometry, photometry, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction method, measurement of microhardness and antifriction properties. The main regularities of simultaneous chromium and carbon alloy electrodeposition were investigated from electrolyte containing Cr(III) compounds with addition of carbamide and formic acid as organic components. A possible mechanism of chromium-carbon alloy formation was proposed which is based on the assumption that the carbon reduction occurs via chemical interaction between active chromium ad-atoms and organic components particles which are adsorbed on the electrode surface. A character of effect of electrolyte composition and electrolysis conditions on the current efficiency as well as deposition rate was determined. The properties of chromium-carbon coatings obtained were studied.
