The installation was designed for operation in a closed space with standard climatic conditions. The installation consists of the current source (pulse current generator), electrodischarge generator of elastic oscillations (EDGEO), water system, and the switchboard. Pulse current generator (PCG) transforms electric energy into 50 kV DC by the special-purpose rectifying transformer. The high-voltage pulse capacitors serve as electric energy capacitor in the PCG. The discharger realizes the electric discharge in the interelectrode gap of the EDGEO; discharge repetition frequency is 0,5 to 3 Hz. At each discharge in the EDGEO the electric energy is transformed by pulses to the wave and mechanical energies. As a result of action on the melt the acoustical cavitation arises, and the melt is stirred, which in turn contributes to degassing and homogenization of the melt. This effect also leads to fracturing of solid inclusions in a fluid metal and promotes more active formation of a great number of crystallization centers.
