The goal of the work is synthesis of annulated biscarbenoid systems, new types of carbene complexes of transition metals to catalyze the hydrodehalogenation of halogenarenes; study of catalysis by carbenes of benzoin condensation, directions of sulfene cycloadditions. Methods of the study are synthetic, kinetic, spectral (NMR spectroscopy), analytical (chromatographical, elemental analysis), quantum-chemical. Basic results. Effective catalysis of benzoin condensation by stable carbenes and a highly effective catalysis of hydrodehalogenation of p-dichlorobenzene by palladium carbene complexes were found. New annulated carbenoids namely imidazolio[4,5-d]imidazolium salts and their derivatives imidazo[4,5-d]imidazol-2,5-dithions were synthesized. The new carbenoids are designed for the preparation of planar conjugated polymer carbene complexes of transition metals. It was found that cycloadditions of substituted sulfenes and their nitrogen containing analogues to alkenes, particularly to dialkylaminostyrenes, lead to form the corresponding substituted isomers - cis- and trans-thietan-S,S-dioxides, and also 1,2-thiazetidin-S-oxides and S,S-dioxides as analogues of compounds with analgetic properties. It was shown that in some cases these reactions proceed stereospecifically for which the structure of alkene is decisive. The obtained data have significance for preparative synthesis of transition metal carbene complexes as catalysts for hydrodehalogenation of halogenarenes, catalysis by carbenes of benzoin condensation, synthesis of heterocyclic compounds on the basis of carbenes and sulfenes as carbene adducts. The scope of application is catalysis of benzoin condensation and hydrodehalogenation of halogenarenes, synthesis of transition metal carbene complexes, synthesis of heterocyclic compounds on the basis of sulfenes.
