The aim - development and testing of methodological tools for comprehensive evaluation of investment activity and justification of practical recommendations for improving its performance in the Western region of Ukraine. Methods - a systematic approach, trend analysis, correlation and regression analysis methods expert and rating assessments, economic modeling, and others. A new methodological approach to a comprehensive evaluation of investment activity at the meso level and on its basis the methodological tools that includes studies of the structure of investment resources in the region at their sources and destinations for investment. A multivariate assessment of the impact of structural transformations in the economy of the region (through the lens relative indicators of return on fixed investment entities of all economic activity) on the dynamics of the investment process, the results of which are built optimized structure investments in the areas of Western Ukraine. Developed and tested on the example of Lviv region methodical approaches to determining the effectiveness of the impact of investments on the level of socio-economic development of the region, on the basis of which reasonably leverage efficiency investments. The main results of the study were introduced in the State Agency for Investment and National Projects of Ukraine and regional administrations Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Rivne, Cherkasy and Chernivtsi regions.
