Objective - to define a list of criteria to evaluate the varieties of fruit crops on which to form their innovation index values as intellectual property rights. Methods: field, hierarchical decomposition, multicriterion analysis. An algorithm for evaluating varieties for innovative value was made, a list of essential qualities for evaluating varieties of fruit crops was formed, and their classification built. Weather and climatic conditions of the South Ukraine steppe requirements for fruit crops match was confirmed, and the main criteria for evaluating varieties were determined. Values were confirmed for key economic and biological indicators of knowledge database by adaptability, performance, manufacturability and marketability clusters for varieties listed in the State Register of plant varieties suitable for distribution in Ukraine, and available in collectible stands MDSS M.F. Sidorenko IS NAAN. The key features that form the innovative value of varieties were determined, indices of innovation values of varieties were calculated, and database was created.
