Hydrogen and synthesis gas generation from solid biomass and domestic wastes. Conversion of biomass-derived gases (syn-gas) to second and third generation liquid biofuel using nanocatalysts popup.stage_title Head Dudnyk Oleksii, Registration Date 14-01-2013 Organization Coal Energy Technology Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Object of the research - carbonization processes of household and industrial organic wastes, steam gasification of biofuel. Objectives - to study the processes of catalytic conversion of solid waste into synthesis gas, which is suitable for the production of liquid fuel in microchannel reactor: catalytic carbonization of solid biomass and municipal waste to produce solid biofuels, steam reforming of obtained biofuels, and determination of approaches to creation of microchannel reactor based on the obtained data analysis. Methods of research - standard methods for solid fuel research and new methods for assessment of carbonization, steam gasification and CO2 fixation processes. The researches of carbonization were conducted on experimental installations of Coal Energy Technology Institute of NAS of Ukraine (CETI) and Indian Institute of Petroleum, the steam gasification - on the experimental installations of CETI. Carbonization of waste cotton, sunflower husks, and waste of sugar cane was carried out. The analysis of the catalytic conversion of the gas after the carbonization of sunflower husks and sugar cane at low temperatures (up to 420 °C) showed the possibility to produce simultaneously two valuable products: coal with low heat value of 20-23 MJ/kg and gas with high content of hydrogen with heating value of up to 8-12 MJ/nm3. The obtained gas can be used to produce liquid transportation fuel. Synthesis gas, which is suitable for the production of liquid transportation fuel, was obtained as a result of steam gasification of coal (produced from sunflower husks) with lime. The catalysts for conversion of synthesis gas into liquid transportation fuel using the Fischer-Tropsh process were developed and improved. Product Description popup.authors Дудник О. М.
