The goal of the study is synthesis of new carbenoids of polynuclear and fused series, mixed carbene-diimine transition metal complexes, and study of their catalytic activity. Methods of the study are synthetic, spectral (1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy), analytical (chromatography, elemental analysis). The results of the research: synthesis of new mixed carbene-diimine complexes was carried out by the reaction of biscarbenes of 1,2,4-triazole series and chelated complexes of transition metals with glyoxal bis-arylimines. New sterically hindered biscarbene ligand has been synthesized by the deprotonation reaction of corresponding bisazole salt with sodium hydride in acetonitrile. A simple and convenient method for the synthesis of intermediate chelated complexes of glyoxal bis-arylimines with transition metal salts has been developed. New carbenoids for the further obtaining conjugated imidazo-[4,5-d]-imidazole-2,6-diilidenes have been synthesized. Mixed carbene-chelated complexes were tested in reductive dehalogenation of p-dichlorobenzene under the action of potassium isopropoxide. The results are important for the preparative synthesis of carbene complexes of transition metals and development of catalytic reductive dehalogenation of halogenarenes.
