Aim of investigation is elucidation of initiation and catalytic action of the hydroxyphthalimide in the reactions of the polymerization and oxidation with molecular oxigen organic substrates, optimization of synthesis of polymeric materials and oxygen-containing compounds in the presence of N-hydroxyphthalimides. Methodes are gas volumometry, dilatometry, IR-, UV-, NMR-spectroscopy, thermogravimetry. Practical and theoretical results - elucidation of the mechanism of the N-hydroxyphalimide catalysis in the liquide-phase reactions of the alkylarenes oxidation. For the first time, it was shown of initiation activity of the hydroxyphthalimide in the reactions of polymerization and oxidation of vinyl compounds, mechanism of initiation was established.
