Kholodny Institute of Botany NASU popup.description2 The ultrastructure of mitochondria of of 3-and 5-day-old pea seedlings roots and the level of mRNA of COX2, SGH4, NDHF, AOX1, E1ALPHA, F1ATFase, which encode enzymes of respiratory metabolism of mitochondria after the influences of clinorotation were investigated. It was shown that in condition of simulated microgravity, the level of SGH4, NDHF, AOX1, E1ALPHA, F1ATF expression does not change, but the level of gene expression of COX2 increases. It is assumed that the increase in the level of expression of mitochondrial cytochrome oxidase and respiratory activity of roots, is part of the adaptive response to decrease in efficiency of phosphorylation in simulated microgravity. The absence of induction of alternative oxidase, at the level of capasity of cianid resistent respiration and expression of AOX1A indicates that the response of mitochondrial respiratyion to microgravity conditions differs from their stress reaction in response to other stress.Based on the work formulated the concept of the state of the energy supply of plant cells in microgravity.
