The results of research - an analysis of the processes occurring during thermal treatment products using the cooling liquid and gaseous media. It is shown that the environment does not allow the use of the internal heat of the structural and phase transformations during heat treatment to develop energy-saving technologies. Developed a technique to study the structural and phase transformations during heating and cooling of steel, which allowed to determine the temperature ranges specified transformations. The method for determining the mass of products to obtain the desired structure by heat treatment with cooling in bulk graphite. Proposed decisions on the use of cooling in bulk graphite for the development of energy-saving technologies in the sample were 45, 45Х3ГНМФ, 80Х3СВФ and 70Х5ВМФ. The results, which indicate the need for new research on the development of energy-saving technologies for the heat treatment of steels and cast irons of different groups and grades. Research results can be used for engineering and metallurgical enterprises and departments to produce foundry.
