The method of functions of intercontact gaps has been developed for solving the new class of contact thermoelastic problems formulated on the basis of such a model. This method consists in reduction of the problems to a system of three singular integro-differential equations with the Hilbert kernel for a height of the intercontact gaps, a shift of the surfaces in the slip zones and a temperature jump between the surfaces. On the basis of the proposed approach, the contact interaction of textured solids under sequential loading by normal forces such that complete contact of solids is realized and shear forces which cause the formation of slip zones has been investigated as well as the friction effect on the distribution of contact and internal stresses has been studied. The contact of solids pressed together by normal load has been investigated for the presence of a periodic array of intercontact gaps unfilled and filled by an ideal gas. The influence of the amount of the gas in the gaps on the effective contact parameters, the contact approach and compliance of the solids, has also been analyzed. The phenomenon of partial slip caused by thermal strains in the process of heat transfer through the interface has been studied for the case of thermoinsulated gaps. The analytical-numerical technique has been developed for solving a system of non-linear singular integro-differential equations which corresponds to the problem of thermally-induced partial slip of textured solids in the presence of a heat-conductive filler of the intercontact gaps.
