Their biological activity was studied in the systems of transcription based on RNA polymerase T7, DNA relaxation by topoisomerase I and telomeric DNA synthesis by telomerase in vitro. Inhibitors of these enzymes active at micromolar concentrations were found. Mechanisms of their inhibition activity were investigated by biochemical and physico-chemical methods and using the computer modeling. Testing on cell models revealed the compounds with antiviral action against herpes, Epstein-Barr and hepatitis C viruses, antibacterial activity against M. tuberculosis, and antifungal activity, whose efficiency is close or superior to that of corresponding medical agents (ribavirin, rifampycin, fluconazole etc). Compounds with antitumor activity at micro- and nanomolar concemtrations were found.
