For the first time there were discovered the luminescence color centers in LiF at a direct high-energy excitation, which implies the presence of energy transfer from matrix to such centers. Spectral-kinetic parameters of the cathode luminescence (stripes in the red and near IR-regions with fluorescence in nanosecond time interval) point at a hypothetical possibility to use LiF crystals as ionizing radiation detectors.
