It was shown that CsI crystals with a low rate of foreign cationic and oxygen-containing impurities do not show considerable changes in optical characteristics under the influence of ionizing radiation. It was determined that measuring of the Fast/Total parameter value in the initial crystals it is possible to forecast to some extent the rate of radiation strength for CsI crystals.
