Aim of the work has been the following: to study chemical composition of pollution of atmosphere, soils and water objects in the Dnister Delta basin and to assess the role of atmospheric fluxes' input into the balance of nutrients in the Dnister Delta river basin. Standard methods of taking and analysis of environment samples that are recommended in Ukraine and in the EU have been used when performing the study. During 2011-2012 sampling of atmospheric depositions, soils and water in the Lower Dnister basin was organized, chemical composition of atmospheric precipitation determined, atmospheric flows of nutrients assessed, balance of nitrogen compounds in the deltaic part of the Dnister calculated, dynamics of changes of nitrogen store in the black soils of the basin, as well as of greenhouse gases secondary emission studied. Two annual field surveys have been carried out to study the state of the Lower Dnister and the Dnister Liman ecosystems, during which hydrological, hydrochemical, hydrobiological and microbiological observations were performed. Altogether 72 stations were carried out in the water bodies of the Dnister deltaic part, from the Kuchurgan Reservoir to Karolino-Bugaz Sand-Spite. The materials collected enabled us to assess hydrological and hydrochemical regime in the studied water bodies, as well as the state of phytoplankton, aquatic vegetation and microflora. Special attention has been paid to assessment of atmospheric pollution input into the total pollution of the Dnister Delta and the Dnister Liman with nutrients, especially of the Lower Dnister National Nature Park territory, as well as to elaboration of practical recommendations to improve the current system to monitor the river basin pollution with nutrients, first of all at the cost if introduction of atmospheric monitoring chapter into the existing regional environmental monitoring systems.
