New physical results have been revealed: surface plasmons have been used as probes for local field in the vicinity of metal nanoparticles; the phenomenon of optically induced anisotropy of surface plasmons has been discovered; super- and sub- lightspeed movement of maximum of a separate femtosecond filament in fused silica has been observed for the first time; a model of the dynamics of autolocalization of single ultrashort light pulse in transparent Kerr media has been suggested; rules of interaction of femtosecond filaments in single crystals of sapphire have been established; a filamented mode of propagation of light pulses and selfrecording of sustainable microwaveguides in chalcogenide glasses have been found; nanostructuring of surface of solid targets induced by femto-pulses has been investigated; "magic clusters" of zinc oxide and their structures have been revealed; a size-dependence of structure of germanium iodide clusters has been found; analytical and numerical models for diagnostics of strong light scattering layered structures have been developed.
