The purpose of the inquiry is to determine the physical regularities and technological modes of electrodischarge treatment of suspensions for yielding the high-quality initial powder mix. Regularities of Fe and Ti powders and 75 % Fe + 20 % Ti+ 5 % B4c mix dispersion are experimentally explored depending on electrical and energy parameters of the electrodischarge treatment. It is shown that combination of the values of current rise velocity di/dt>24 GA/s and specific energy of treatment 2,67 MJ/cu dm allows for yielding the powders when the surfactant solution is added to the working medium: Fe powder with a mean diameter <0,8 µm; Ti powder a mean diameter <0,8 µm; 75 % Fe + 20 % Ti + 5 % B4C powder mix with a mean diameter ca. 0,5 µm. It is established that EH treatment of Fe powder leads to its carbidization whose intensity depends on specific energy of treatment. Regularities of Ti powder carbidization are outlined, and with the increase of current density in the discharge channel the TIC quantity grows. Thus, treatment with current density 0,56 kA/sq.mm leads to TIC concentration 56 %. Electrodischarge treatment of powder mix 75 % Fe + 20 % Ti + 5 % B4c leads to formation of a great quantity of new phases, among which are Fe and Ti borides, intermetallics, Fe and Ti carbides. Intensity of new phase formation depends on treatment parameters. The greatest quantity of phases which may serve as additional disperse reinforcers is formed during treatment with specific energy 2,67 MJ/cu dm and di/dt ca 28 GA/s.
