The possible sources for the ensuring the investment needs of fuel and energy sector branches were investigated and the characteristics of their usage in market conditions are analyzed in this study. Given the results of research performed, the general approach to accounting of the sources of investment resources for optimization of the development of the fuel and energy sector of the country and its sub-systems is proposed. The new mathematical models for forecasting the development of fuel and energy sector branches which allow taking into account all relevant types of investment resources within the macro level only are developed. The new mathematical models for accounting of the market resourcing and environmental requirements in forecasting the fuel and energy complex are created, and existing models are improved. A common hierarchy of software tools for the research of the fuel and energy complex in conditions of market resource supplying is developed. The software blocks of realization of life cycle models for energy companies were created. With use of these blocks, the effect of the structure of investment resources on the cost and the price of electricity for different technologies is investigated. The prospects of development of the branches of fuel and energy complex of Ukraine in crisis and post-crisis periods in conditions of market resource supplying are investigated.
