Subbotin Institute of Geophysics performed works on «Mechanism of placing of deposits of strategic mineral resources on the territory of Ukraine, geophysical and geodynamic criteria of their search» which consisted of two sub-themes: A. Сomplex dimensional geological - geophysical and geodynamic models of the crust and mantle of the Kirovograd ore district of the Ukrainian Shield in connection with the development of search criteria for strategic minerals and diamonds. B. The regularities of deposits distribution of fuels in Ukraine and geological-geophysical and geodynamic criteria for their search. In the first sub-theme the deep structure of the crust and mantle of the Kirovograd Ore District (KOD) was investigated and numerical maps of the gravity anomaly, magnetic anomaly, geoelectric, heat fields were made. Three-dimensional high-speed, density, geomagnetic, geothermal, geoelectric models of the crust and mantle were plotted, on the base of which links have been established between the geophysical characteristics and the placement of deposits and occurrences of uranium, gold, rare metals. A detailed analysis of the structure of all major mineral deposits of the KOD was considered and on that basis the directions for further explorations were found. In the second sub-theme the prospects of petroleum potential of Ukrainian territory in the North-East of the Black Sea and the Dnieper-Donets Basin were assessed.
