The primary goal of the study is to reveal the evolutionary and genetic regularities observed within certain groups of species, especially in cases of changes occurring today due to human impact. The first stage of the study has accomplished a monitoring investigation of the selected species. Firstly these are diploid-polyploid species of fish and earthworms, each of which are characterized by significant chromosome polymorphism and polyploidy, and invasive species which pose a biological threat. Results of the study show the presence of directional genetic changes which have taken place only recently and have revealed the appearance of novel ployploid and other genetically modified organisms, alteration of types of polymorphism, adaptation of invasive species to new environmental conditions.
