Aim - to study the changes in components composition of rabbit seminal plasma along with spermatozoid functional activity atvarious terms after total body irradiation of animals in the dose range of 1,0-7,0 Gy. Methods - radiobiological, biochemical, microscopic, spectrophotometric, chromatographic and statistical techniques as well as a method atomic absorption spectrometry. Dynamics of changes in activity of sperm and component contents of seminal plasma in rabbits after total body irradiation of animals by ionizing radiation in the dose range of 1,0-7,0 Gy was elucidated. It was shown that X-ray irradiation of animals in the dose 2,0 Gy; 5,0 Gy and 7,0Gy caused the dose-dependent suppressing effect on the functional state of prostatic gland, seminal vesicles and epididymices, that embodied in the abatement of fructose, citrate, L-carnitine and prostaglandin concentration in seminal plasma of rabbits. Simultaneously a raise of morphologic anomalies in spermatozoid as well as a slowing of their motility and linear velocity were accompanied by the diminution of the ejaculate volume and sperm viscosity as well the decreasing of alpha-tocopherol, ascorbate and free thiols concentration in the sperm of laboratory rabbits. In 90 days after irradiation by the dose of 2,0 Gy and 5,0 Gy a partial normalization of some parameters occurred, the duration of which being dependent on the mean value of the radiation dose received Product Description popup.authors
