Phase formation in the Ti-B4C; Ti-B4C-TiSi2; Ti-B4C-CoSi2 systems in the reaction sintering of ceramic materials in non-equilibrium conditions at high pressures was investigated. The features of the formation of structure and hardness of ceramics as a function of the initial concentrations of the substances and the temperature and pressure conditions of consolidation was reveald. It are found the conditions for the synthesis of non-equilibrium states of boron carbide B8C that can provide increased hardness of the composite.
