The study of within population and between population genetic variation of four geographically different natural populations of the common snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis L.) growing on the plain (Kyiv and Cherkasy region) and mountainous (Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian region) areas of Ukraine. It was shown that the populations studied were poorly differentiated and much of their genetic diversity refers to intrapopulation variability. Values of the coefficients of genetic similarity and Nei's genetic distance (Nei (1972) indicate a high level of genetic similarity between all four populations studied G. nivalis, growing on the territory of Ukraine.The between population genetic differentiation was low.
