The investigation is concerned with distribution of temperature and electric potential, as well as heat fluxes and electric current in the specimen under research during the measurements of their thermoelectric properties and effect of various factors on such distribution. The work purpose is todevelop high-precision methods of measuring thermoelectric materials parameters in the wide temperature range. Acomputer-aidedsystemformeasuringthermoelectric materials parameters in the temperature range of 30-500°С with the absolute method has been designed and developed. The system is made on the base of high-precision multichannel analog-to-digital coder and enables the definition of temperature dependences of thermoelectric materials, the results processing and display in the automatic mode, thus allowing eliminating subjective errors. The precision obtained in the estimating of thermoelectric figure-of-merit equals ~ 4.7% on the equipment developed, being, therefore, 3 to 5 times more precise than that of the similar equipment known. The automated equipment based on the use of the modified Harman method has also been created thus being of high efficiency for measuring of thermoelectric properties of small-size specimen. The equipment of the industrial purpose for measuring the properties on the bars and discs of thermoelectric materials has also been constructed. Such equipment, when used at the industrial fabrication of thermoelectric cooling modules, allows improvement of their efficiency by 8-15% and reducing the waste of thermoelectric material by ~10%. The equipment under discussion is in popular international demand. The equipment for measuring of the properties of thermoelectric materials is installed and included into the manufacturing process of the companies dealing with design and manufacturing of thermoelectric products.
