It first investigated the oxide-carbonate manganese ore as a material for preparation of sorbent-catalyst for purifying water from manganese compounds. It was found that heat treatment of ores leads to activation of the surface due to the decomposition of carbonate manganese oxides, as well as cracking of existing and creation of new pores. Chemical modification promotes the formation of crystalline layer on the surface. The presence of manganese ore in stock for strong connections catalytic film basis, unlike the Dolomites, where manganese impurity is about 0.1%. For samples of sorbent-catalyst based EMOCO set microstructural features of the main mineral phases, mikroheterogeneity, mikrostructure rock-forming minerals, determined the size and shape of inclusions contained in them. The presence of quartz within the oxide-carbonate manganese ore during processing of the state of sorbent-catalyst has a positive effect on the hydrodynamics of the process of purification. For a series of samples from dolomite ore confirmed homogeneity main phase with a single layer of texture and stability of heat-activation. But after stage chemical modification of surface samples sorbent-catalyst based on dolomite performance water far below the standards of sorbent-catalyst based EMOCO.
