Objects - 211 patients with mild to moderate arterial hypertension and with arterial stiffness disorders and 54 healthy persons/ Mean age (51,7 ± ±0,8) years. Aim: to evaluate structure and function sate of arteries in patients with essential and renoparenchymal arterial hypertension. Methods: baseline and at the end of study all patients were done office blood pressure measurements, heart rate, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, pulse wave velocity measurements on elastic and muscular type arteries, echocardiography, carotis ultrasound investigation, biochemical blood analysis, rutine urine analysis. Body mass and height were evaluated. Based on results there were obtained some scientific and practical data: evaluation of arterial stiffness damages (as target organ in hypertension) in patients with essential hypertension by pulse wave velocity measurements and comparison of antihypertensive drug effects (ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, sartans, fixed-dose combination) on arterial stiffness; there were proposed method of differential diagnosis of arterial hypertension and functional disorders and prognostic method of antihypertensive therapy effectiveness.
