The project provides a comprehensive theoretical and experimental study of a wide range of physical and chemical properties of nanofluid solutions that significantly increase the thermal conductivity and therefore the energy efficiency of conventional working fluids and coolants in the energy, chemical and refrigeration equipment. Different classes of nanoparticles (fullerenes, single- and multi-walled carbon nanotubes, metal nanoparticles) are considered and their behavior in classical fluids (solubility, PVT properties, surface tension, properties, transport and critical renormalization constant) in a wide range of state parameters are studied. Theoretical and experimental results regarding the shift of the critical point of classical fluids under the influence of nanoparticles of different nature are investigated. Based on the concept of global phase diagrams a new approach for predicting such phenomena as nanofluids separation, self-assembly of nanoparticles, the influence of the concentration of nanoparticles on the topology of the phase diagrams, the appearance (fracture) azeotropiyi etc is provided.
