Kavetsky Institute of Experimental Pathology, Oncology and Radiobiology popup.description2 Using the methods of immunoblot test and ELISA the investigations of cross-reactivity of heterologous embryonic and bacterial proteins with blood serum (BS) of animals with tumor, it was found the link between the tumor volume and the antibodies level in various tumor models. The diagnostic test system for monitoring tumor processes was created on the basis of chick embryonic proteins and oncofetal antigens of microbial origin. The responses to constructed test antigens were checked on of BS derived from patients with malignant tumors (stomach, colon, lung and uterus cancers). The most sensitive experimental test systems were identified involving proteins of cultural liquid (Mm 64 kDa) and cytoplasma (Mm 70 kDa) of B. megaterium H, homologous to tumors oncofetal antigen. On the basis of chick embryonic proteins (7th day of gestation) and rats nervous tissue (22nd day of gestation) the original xenogeneic vaccines were created that are capable of producing anti-tumor immune response, which is accompanied by a significant inhibition of metastasis formation. It was proved that engineered heterologous vaccine is most effective in the cases of surgical removal of the primary tumor. Application of xenogeneic embryonic proteins significantly extends the arsenal of cancer vaccines, providing the capability to vaccination of cancer patients in the cases of absence of autologous tumor material, and also makes it easy to standardize vaccines.
