Vlokh of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine popup.description2 The analysis of the singularities of the phase front of the optical waves induced by nonuniform electric field and mechanical torsion in crystals of different symmetry groups was carried out. A torsion and electrooptical methods of optical vortices excitation were proposed as well as the torsion-optical method of piezooptic coefficients measurement. A new highly accurate method for measuring and determining of the sign of piezooptic coefficients was developed, which combines image digital interferometry with four-point fold method. The correlation for the Poynting vector of electromagnetic wave that propagates in a crystal with weak optical activity was deduced. Using the method of Fredericks magnetic transition, the temperature and concentration dependences of the elastic constants of transverse bending K1, twisting K2 and longitudional bending K3 for lyotropic chromonic liquid crystal Sunset Yellow were obtained.
